Stampin' Up! Project Life announcement & Card Share

Hello Stampers!

I'm back to share the card I promised to share, but first wanted to share the big announcement that Stampin' Up! made earlier today.

We are so so so excited to let you know we’ve partnered with the amazing Becky Higginsto bring you the real deal—authentic Project Life products, now in exclusive Stampin’ Up! colors and designs. If you’ve somehow missed the Project Life craze and are wondering what it’s all about, we’ll fill you in: it’s a super simple, totally affordable way to get your photos into albums: you just slip your photos into Photo Pocket Pages and add designed cards. It’s a back-to-basics approach to documenting your life. In a nutshell, it’s all aboutspending more time making memories and less time scrapbooking them.
You’ll be able to order a selection of Project Life products starting May 1! And with the launch of our new annual catalog on June 2, you’ll be able to buy from our complete line of Project Life products.
Can’t wait that long? Stampin’ Up! demonstrators will be able to order the limited selection starting April 21. So if you’re a demonstrator make sure to check the demonstrator website that day; if you’re not a demonstrator, sign up and you can order the products early too!
Here are the items you’ll be able to purchase on May 1:

So what do you think? I think it's pretty neat and might have to give it a try when it's released. I've done a few scrapbooking pages, but lost interest just because of how time consuming it is. So this might just be the thing for me?
Ok, well here is the card I made for Saturday. It's a case of a card made by Beth Crocker. I cased her card to make for my upline for her birthday and then I decided to make one using current products for the Shoebox Swap I signed up for. The bad news is the cards can't take a long time to make, so I had to pre-cut enough hexagons for 8 people to make the cards and then the event got cancelled:( It's Ok. I put them all together and now I have a bunch of cards for future birthday's:)
Supplies Used:
Stamps: You're Amazing
Paper: Real Red, Coastal Cabana, Whisper White & Fresh Prints DSP stack
Ink: Real Red Classic Ink Pad
Other: Honeycomb Textured Impressions Embossing Folder, 3/8" Ruffle Stretch Trim & Basic Rhinestones
I really like the colors of the Fresh Prints DSP Stack. I thought the papers I chose made a nice color combo. What do you think?
I hope you're having a great day!

Birthday Card Share

Hello Stamp Friends!

March is known as March Madness in our family, due to the number of birthday's that we celebrate. This year, March was very difficult for us as we lost two very special family members. My Aunt passed away at the beginning of March and my Mother-in-law passed away the day before my birthday. My aunt never had health problems, so her passing was a huge shock to the family. My mother-in-law has been fighting cancer for years, but it was still so hard to say goodbye. Both were very sweet women and I'm sure they're rejoicing with the lord in heaven and watching over us.

During this incredibly hard time, I received some birthday cards in the mail that I would like to share. I realize it's been a while since I've shared anything. The first card was made by Sue. Isn't it gorgeous? I love it! Thank you so much Sue!

Made by Sue E.

The second card is a case of Bronwyn Eastley's Sweet Sorbet Owl. This card put an instant smile on my face. It's absolutely precious! Thank you Kathy!

Made by Kathy W.

This last card was made by Candi H. Another gorgeous card! Thanks so much Candi!

Thank you so much ladies for the beautiful cards, but most of all for thinking of me. It was a little ray of sunshine during such a difficult time.

I have a Shoebox swap coming up this weekend, so hopefully I will have something new to share soon! Thanks for coming by and I hope you have a great day!

More Mixed Bunch cards

Hello Stamp Friends!

I shared this card on my blog on January 10th.

I liked the card, but felt it needed a layer to separate the DSP from the Whisper White card stock with the sentiment. So I decided to make another one. Well, I wound up making two and changed them a bit. I left the ribbon off. Not sure if that was the right move or not. What do you think?

Card share with SAB Sneak Peak

Hello Stamp Friends!

In my last post, I promised to share the cards that I made at my upline meeting this past weekend.

This first card was made using the P.S. I Love You stamp set in the New Occasions Mini Catalog. We also used several other new products making this card. We used the new Blossom punch, the Adorning Accent Edgelits Dies & Textured Impressions Embossing Folders & Baja Breeze 3/8" Pleated Satin Ribbon. Isn't this pretty?

This second card has a combination of new products from the Occasions Mini and the Sale-A-Bration mini.

The ribbon, brad and DSP are items that will be found in the SAB catalog. Sale-A-Bration begins on January 24th. I can't wait!!!

Tomorrow I have a card to share using the new Mixed Bunch stamp set and the coordinating Blossom punch.

Thanks for stopping by and have a great day!!!

Extreme Guitar Birthday Card

Good morning!

Today I would like to share a card that I made for my 16-year old nephew. I had originally planned to make a card with this stamp using a polished stone background, but I wound up not having the Real Red re-inker. (Can you believe it? I don't have Real Red? Oh boy!) Anyway, just to get an idea of what it would have looked like, I dipped the cotton ball in the top of my ink pad and then adding a couple drops of Pacific Point with alcohol. Once I started dabbing it on the Glossy White card stock, it just looked too dark to me. I decided to do something else. I was already late with his card. His birthday was while I was away at the Convention. I just decided to go with my favorite colors...the "Brights Collection"! I just stamped the background images randomly and then stamped the guitarist in the middle. I used the "You Rock" stamp from the Just Jawing stamp set, which is now retired. I then made a layer behind it and curled it up on the end just using my finger.

Supplies Used:
Stamps: Extreme Elements, Extreme Guitar (retired) & Just Jawing (retired)
Paper: Pacific Point, Real Red & Whisper White
Ink: Jet Black StazOn, Real Red, Pacific Point, Old Olive, Pumpkin Pie & Daffodil Delight
Other: Black Flourishes rhinestones (retired) & Stampin' Dimensionals

I also have more (yes, more! I will actually have one more batch after these.) Convention Swaps to share.

I don't know about you, but I'm a big fan of the Blossom Boquet punch. I thought this card was really pretty.

(Cindy R.)

And I love the way this artist used the punch for a beautiful border.

(Laura H.)

This card is an MDS Hybrid card. The only thing on this card that's not MDS, is the flower tops, which were done with the Blossom Boquet punch & the centers, which were punched from the Itty Bitty punch pack. How cool is that?

(Cathy C.)

The next card was made using the Scallop Square punch. I thought this was really cool, because this artist demonstrated a way to conserve card stock. She actually punched her scalloped squares using the card stock from the background paper. I do this whenever I can:)

And here's the back of the layer, showing you how she conserved card stock.

(Robbie Cox)

This card is so pretty and I love all of the details. The background is beautiful, I love all of the punching, dies, & the colors are so pretty.

(Sandy B,)

Thank you for the beautiful swaps!

OK, so that's it for today. Tomorrow I will be back with the last of the Convention Swaps. I'm finally getting better at posting regularly and I'm hoping to keep it going now that my boys will be going back to school starting tomorrow. I can't believe the summer is almost over. Where did it go?

I hope you have a terrific day!
