Happy Thanksgiving!

Good Morning Stamp Friends!

Today I have more Pinterest Inspiration. I found two darling Curvy Keepsake Turkey's on Pinterest. The first one is from Darla Watson. I loved that spread of feathers! Absolutely gorgeous! The second one is from Lisa Kirishian. I love the way she used the large leaf from the Flower Fair Framelits to make a body for the turkey. I combined the two and here's my version. The body is Chocolate Chip. I used Crushed Curry, Cherry Cobbler and Cajun Craze for my feathers. For his front feathers, I used Brown Baked Sugar. The beak and feet are Pumpkin Pie and the waddle is Real Red. I had some Google Eyes that I picked up a couple years ago that has eyelashes and I just love the way it turned out. It was so much fun to make.

Supplies Used:

Curvy Keepsake Die, Feather Framelits Dies, Flower Fair (large single leaf), Owl Builder Punch, Heart to Heart punch (retired-smallest heart for nose and waddle) & 1" Circle punch

Where do you go for inspiration?

Hello Stamp Friends!

Where do you go for inspiration? I find inspiration everywhere, but lately I've been spending some time on Pinterest and have found the most adorable things to make for the holidays. The first thing I found that I went crazy over was this Elf Fry Box made by Candace Pelfrey. I knew I wanted to make it, but I had to improvise, because I didn't have the same papers she used. I did however, have some retired papers that I thought would work.

I started by cutting the entire Fry Box design using Old Olive card stock. Next, I measured the inside section of the back of the box and cut my DSP and adhered it to the inside using the Adhesive Transfer Sheets. For the polka dots on the inside of the box, I used the retired DSP Polka Dot Parade in Old Olive. Then I did the same thing for the front of the box using the Brights DSP Patterns Stack, again in Old Olive, which came from the 2012-2013 Catalog. I made the collar by cutting out the front of the box using Whisper White card stock and the Big Shot. I left about a half inch at the top and then drew the zig-zags using a ruler, so the lines would be straight. After cutting it out, I added it to the fry box with Stampin' Dimensionals©. I added Mini Jingle Bells (which are also retired, but you shouldn't have any problem finding them at the local craft store this time of the year:) with glue dots.

For the belt, I cut a 6 1/4 x 1/2" piece of black card stock and wrapped it around the sides and cut off the excess. (It does not go around the back side.) For the buckle, I cut a 3/4" strip of silver Foil paper and used the Project Life Corner Rounder Punch to round the edges on the right side. Then I put it on my paper trimmer and cut the strip to 3/4". Then I put a tiny bit of adhesive on the back side and stuck it to the edge of another strip of card stock, so I'd have something to hold on to and be able to round the other two sides. I hope I'm explaining this so you can understand.? Then I cut a 1/2 x 1/2" piece of black card stock and put it in the center of the black strip so it would resemble a belt buckle. Isn't it adorable?

I also love how she did the "Elf Poop" circles to put on the bottom of the Hershey Kisses, so I set out to make those too! I haven't done much in My Digital Studio, so it took me a couple days to get it looking and printing the way I wanted it to. I even had a Candy Cane Font to print them in. What do you think?

If you like this project, please be sure to come back tomorrow to see another darling project that I found on Pinterest.

Thanks so much for coming by and I hope you have a wonderful day!

Fall Demo Event Cards

Hello Stamp Friends!

I bet you thought I disappeared again, didn't you? I actually had to take a short break to get ready for a big Demonstrator event that my upline, Debbie puts together every Fall. This year there were 18 of us and we each had to design a card that would take 10 minutes or less to put together and that we would be able to demonstrate if we were to have a holiday workshop. We had to pre-cut the card bases and layers and have all of the supplies for everyone to make it.  We made all of the make-n-takes and then we voted for our top 3 cards. There were prize give-a-ways for the 1st, 2nd & 3rd place cards. My card wasn't a prize winning card, but I hope everyone liked it. Here it is:

I used the new Snow Flurry die for this card. I started with the Candlelight Christmas Designer Series Paper first. I chose the stripped paper for the bottom and went with the Lucky Limeade paper for the top. I pulled out the coordinating card stock colors and played around with the layers until they looked well together. Then I added the ribbon, snowflake and sentiment (from the "Greetings of the Season" stamp set). It's not my favorite card, but I thought I did pretty good. I will be back to share the 1st, 2nd and 3rd place cards later.

Now I would like to share my swap card. I bought this stamp set, because I love the adorable images in the set. I chose the penguin for the main focal point. Coloring him wasn't as easy as I thought it would be. I colored the stamp with the markers. The hat is so close to the top of his head, so it was hard not getting black ink on his hat and scarf. The rest was pretty easy, but coloring 18 of them was very time consuming. I guess it didn't help that I was watching one of my favorite shows while doing it. LOL! I love Bering Sea Gold:) I'm a reality TV-a-holic! Anyway, here is my swap card:

What do you think? I'm really happy with this one. The penguin is just too cute and I couldn't be happier with the gorgeous Designer Series Paper, (Snow Festival) and the beautiful ribbon Stampin' Up! has for us to create. I just love how everything coordinates.

Anyway, I have so much to share from the event that I went to on Saturday, so I hope you will come back tomorrow for more of the projects we made. Everyone did such a great job. I love events like these, because I come home totally inspired and want to make something else. (Though I didn't, because it was pretty much an all day event). Debbie made a fantastic lunch and dinner for us and a couple volunteers brought some delicious desserts as well! Debbie, thank you so much for such a great event!

Thanks for coming by and I hope you have a wonderful day!

Floral District Mother's Day

Hello Stamp Friends!

Today I would like to share a few cards that I made for some very special Mom's. The first two cards were made for my Mom & my Mother-In-Law. I didn't want to give them the same exact card (even though they're pretty close:), so I switched up the colors to make them a little different. I used the new Floral District Designer Series Paper, which will be available to customers on June 1st.

I also used the soon to retire Daisies #2 die and my "Happy Mother's Day" stamp has been retired for some time now, but I love how elegant it looks.

Supplies Used:

Stamps: All-Year Cheer II (retired)
Paper: Rose Red, Tangerine Tango, Whisper White & Floral District
Ink: Tangerine Tango & Rose Red
Other: Big Shot, Tasteful Trim & Dasies #2 dies, 3/4" circle punch & Stampin' Dimensionals

I made the next card for my Sister-In-Law and best friend in the world, Katie. This is another design from the Floral District DSP. Don't you just love it?

Supplies Used:

Stamps: All-Year Cheer II (retired)
Paper: Baja Breeze, Rich Razzleberry, Whisper White & Floral District
Ink: Rich Razzleberry
Other: Big Shot, Tasteful Trim & Dasies #2 dies, 1" circle punch & Stampin' Dimensionals

I wanted to wish all of my readers a wonderful Mother's Day! I hope you're having a great day!

Hello Stamp Friends!

Today, I would like to share a Journal that I took to a gathering a couple weeks ago. I cased this journal by Sharlene Meyer here. If you've never seen her work, you've got to check it out! The only things I did differently, is I took the ring off of the book, so I could cover the whole thing. I cut the card stock 5 1/4" x 5 1/4", then traced the two wholes closest to the ends with pencil. Then I used the retired Stampin' Up! Spiral Border punch to punch the wholes. (The only confusing thing, was trying to put it back together once I got it covered:) Then I glued the card stock to the chipboard album using the Anywhere Glue Stick. The only other thing I did differently is, I used the Timeless Type alphabet Medium Sizzlits dies to make the initials of the first names of the people attending. I wanted to personalize them a bit. Everyone loved them. Thanks Sharlene for sharing your beautiful work:)

Supplies Used:

Stamps: Fresh Vintage
Paper: Pool Party, Peach Parfait, Poppy Parade, Whisper White, & Everyday Elegance DSP
Ink: Poppy Parade Classic Ink Pad & Peach Parfait, Pool. Party & Lucky Limeade Markers
Other: Big Shot, Beautiful Butterflies Bigz die, Scallop Square Clear Bigz die, Timeless Type Medium Sizzlits die, 5 x 5 On Board Art Journal, Everyday Enchantment ribbon & brads, Basic Rhinestones & Stampin' Dimensionals©

Fresh Vintage Stamp set, Everyday Enchantment DSP & Everyday Enchantment Ribbon & Brad Pack are all items that you can choose for free with a $50 order. Sale-A-Bration continues through March 31, 2012. Don't miss out!
